UniVirtual Solutions installs structured cabling for Atlanta businesses: Cat6 and Cat6A data drops, fiber links between floors and buildings, racks, patch panels and cable cleanup in existing network closets. Every project starts with a walkthrough, every run is tested and labeled, and support continues after the install. Structured cabling is one of our low voltage services, alongside cameras, access control and Wi-Fi.
Why Messy Cabling Costs More Than It Looks
Cable stays in the walls and ceilings for ten years or more, and it outlives several generations of computers, phones and switches. When it goes in without a plan, the cost shows up later: unlabeled runs nobody can trace, drops that were never tested, patch cords piled in front of the switch and a closet where every change takes half a day.
The other common problem is cable that was sized for yesterday. Wi-Fi access points, cameras and door controllers all draw power over the network cable now, and the newest access points need more bandwidth and more power than older Cat5e or lightly built Cat6 runs were designed for.
Getting the physical layer right once is cheaper than working around it for a decade.
Structured Cabling Services For Atlanta Offices
We handle new offices, build-outs, expansions and cleanup of closets that have grown out of control. You get one point of contact from the walkthrough to the final test.
Most offices need a mix: Cat6A to access points and anywhere you expect to grow, Cat6 to desks and phones, and fiber where the distance or speed calls for it. We recommend what fits the space and the devices you plan to run, not the most expensive option on the list, and we explain the tradeoff so you can decide.
Cat6 And Cat6A Data Drops
Runs to desks, phones, printers, access points, cameras and door controllers, terminated on patch panels and tested end to end.
Racks And Cable Management
Wall-mount or floor racks, patch panels, horizontal and vertical cable managers and short, tidy patch cords so every port can be traced.
Closet Cleanup
Re-terminating, labeling and re-dressing an existing network closet so moves and changes stop being guesswork.
Every Run Tested, Labeled And Documented
Structured cabling is only as good as the proof that it works. Every copper and fiber run our structured cabling company installs is tested before hand-over to the performance level of its category, in line with industry standards such as TIA-568. A run sold as Cat6A is tested as Cat6A.
Test Results
Test results for each run, kept with your records.
Labels
Labels on every jack, patch panel port and cable that match the floor plan.
Rack And Closet Records
Rack and closet records showing what connects to what.
Plenum Or Riser Rated Cable
Plenum or riser rated cable where the building and code call for it.
Those records matter long after a structured cabling Atlanta project is finished. When you add a desk, move a printer or chase a slow connection, the answer is on paper instead of behind the ceiling tiles.
Cabling For Wi-Fi, Cameras, Phones And Door Access
Most new cable runs now power a device as well as connect it. Power over Ethernet (PoE) feeds Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones and door controllers straight from the network switch, so the cable plan and the switch plan are designed together.
Our structured cabling Atlanta projects include:
Office Network Cabling
Office network cabling for build-outs and moves, from a handful of drops to a full floor.
MDF And IDF Closets
MDF and IDF closets with racks, patch panels, cable managers and power placed for growth.
Fiber Backbones
Fiber backbones using single-mode or multimode fiber between closets, floors and buildings.
Moves, Adds And Changes
Moves, adds and changes after the install.
Old Cable Removal
Old cable removal, so abandoned runs stop filling the ceiling.
Cat6 installation is the standard choice for most office drops. Cat6A is the better choice for new Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points and for runs you expect to keep for many years.
For fiber optic installation Atlanta buildings need between floors, suites or buildings, we plan the route, pathway and terminations together with the rest of the network.

Cabling Planned Around The Network, Not Just The Floor Plan
A cabling contractor plans runs from a floor plan. A network team plans them from what will plug in: how many access points, cameras and phones need power over the cable, how much switch capacity that takes, and where the network closets need to be. Because UniVirtual Solutions manages networks, we plan your cabling from both directions.
That is also why we label and test every run. When an engineer needs to trace a drop at 8 AM on a Monday, the label on the wall plate matches the label on the patch panel, and the test results say the run is good.
From Free Assessment To Ongoing Support
Behind each cabling job is UniVirtual Solutions, an Atlanta managed IT and cybersecurity provider since 2009. A structured cabling project moves through four steps:
Free Walkthrough
An engineer walks the site before any quote, checking ceilings, the closet and each planned drop.
Scope
You see the drops, fiber runs and rack layout before work starts.
Install And Test
Every run is tested and labeled at both ends.
Hand-Over And Support
Moves, adds and changes are handled after the install, with your cabling records already on file.
If the project also includes security cameras, access control or business Wi-Fi, we plan the cabling for those devices in the same scope.
Structured Cabling Atlanta Businesses Can Rely On
Licensed And Insured
UniVirtual Solutions holds a Georgia low voltage contractor license and carries insurance for every cabling job, and we provide copies of both before the first run is pulled. Ask any cabling installer you compare us with for the same proof.
Dedicated Low Voltage Team
Cabling jobs are run by our dedicated low voltage team, which is separate from the help desk and works with our cybersecurity engineers. Fiber terminations and testing are led by a Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT). Because a network team designs the cable plant, switch ports, PoE budget and closet layout are planned with security in mind from the start. We work with all major cabling and network brands, keep the as-built records for later moves, adds and changes, and keep supporting the cable plant after hand-over. Our own technicians pull and terminate every run, with no subcontractors.
Free Site Assessment
Every cabling job begins with a free walkthrough, and pulls can be booked after hours when a busy office or a running warehouse cannot stop. Our cabling crews work for accounting and law firms, aviation businesses, construction materials suppliers, manufacturers and distribution companies from Kennesaw and Marietta to McDonough and Peachtree City, plus Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Duluth and Norcross.
“They do a great job with all our company computers and servers. Easy to work with and quick to respond.”

Structured Cabling Atlanta: Common Questions
The cabling and fiber questions Atlanta clients raise most often before a run is planned.
What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?
Both carry gigabit Ethernet. Cat6A is built for 10 gigabit speeds over the full 100-meter run and handles higher-power devices with less heat, so it is the safer choice for new builds, Wi-Fi access points and anything you expect to keep for many years. Cat6 is often enough for desks and phones in a smaller office.
When do we need fiber instead of copper?
Copper Ethernet is limited to about 100 meters per run. Fiber is used for longer runs, links between floors or buildings, and connections between network closets where you want more room to grow in speed.
Can you clean up our existing network closet?
Yes. We can re-terminate, label and re-dress an existing closet, replace tangled patch cords and test the runs so every port can be traced.
Do you visit the site before quoting?
Yes. Every cabling project starts with a walkthrough of the space, the ceilings and the network closet.
Do you support the cabling after it is installed?
Yes. Moves, adds and changes are handled after the install, with your cabling records already on file.
Do you work outside Atlanta?
Yes. We pull cable and fiber across metro Atlanta and in other Georgia cities. Call 678-374-4352 to confirm your site.
How long does an office network cabling project take?
It depends on the number of drops, ceiling access and whether the office is occupied. Smaller jobs are often finished quickly, while a full floor build-out is planned in phases. You get a timeline with the quote after the free site assessment.
Can you work after hours to avoid downtime?
Yes. Cabling work can be scheduled after hours so phones, Wi-Fi and desks stay up while your team is working.
Can you test our existing cabling?
Yes. We test existing runs to find failing or underperforming cable, then recommend repair or replacement based on the results. It is often the first step before a larger office network cabling project.
Should we use Cat6 or Cat6A for new access points?
For new Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points we usually recommend Cat6A, because it supports higher speeds over the full run length and leaves room for future upgrades. Cat6 installation remains a good fit for most desk drops.
How is structured cabling priced?
Structured cabling Atlanta pricing depends on the number of drops, cable type, run lengths, ceiling and wall access, closet work, fiber and whether work happens after hours. The free site assessment lets us give you a firm quote instead of a guess.
